In this case I'll show you how to create conversion tracking for newslettersign-upSo let's say that this is the same thing as that. In other words, you will be able to track when someone clicks the button “yes, please”.
Prerequisites
In order to implement tracking, the following assumptions must be in place:
- Google Ads is installed and payment information is added.
- You have made ads in Google Ads that you want to trig desired actions on the website.
- You have implemented Google Tag Manager correctly.
- You have administrative access to Google Tag Manager. This means that when you log in to Tag Manager and click on “Preview” you will be able to see the following preview window on your website:

Step 1: Google Ads
- First thing you have to do is create a ”translation action“ in Google Ads your account. You’re doing this easily by going to ”tools“ and press ”converts“. Click on “+” character and select “website”.

2. Fill in the required information and click “create and continue”.

3.You will get the following options: “Use Google Tag Manager”.

4.You will get a unique conversion ID and a unique translation label which will be added to the tag of the Google Tag Manager. Remember to note these before you go on.

Step 2: Google Tag Manager
The next step will be to install the tag in the Google Tag Manager.
- Go into Google Tag Manager and click on your Account. Press “Preview”.

2. Click “add a new tag” and give it a name, for example. ”Google Ads newsleter sign-up’.
Three. Select Next “Google Ads Conversion Tracking”

4. You will get the following table:

Fill Out Conversion ID and Conversion label with the information you received from Google Ads. Click on “trigger”. Define what you want to tick this tag.
5. Here comes the hard part. How do you pick a proper trigger? In this case, we will track when someone reports. Our newsletterSo let's say that this is the same thing as that. When Something Presses ”yes, please” button, the person stays on the same website. The only change is the text in the message box from “Yes, thank you” Adds a new calendar to the selected calendarSuccess“.

That's a view item on the page that we want to track. In this case, the item is: “success“ who will appear when someone has signed up for the newsletter.
Step 3: Choice of Trigger in Google Tag Manager
3.1 Selection method:
When we're going to pick the type of trigger in Tag Manager, we can choose ‘element visibility’. This trigger helps us trigger some tags based on an item shown on the website. The trigger can be used to trigger the tag as soon as the item on the page is downloaded or after someone performed the desired action.

The next step will be to fill out the trigger with the correct information. A description of all items to be filled out is below the picture:

3.2 Element selector:
In this case we will trace ”success“text that appears after a successful notification. To find out the details to insert, let's do a test notification. To find ‘element selector’ We click on the page and press ”ineating“. In the text to the right we can look for the item details we need.

Above the “success” word you can see the following text:
<div class="et_pb_newsletter_result et_pb_newsletter_success‘style=’display: block;»><h2 data-gtm-vis-recent-on-screen-199847_22=‘19336′ data-gtm-vis-first-on-screen-199847_22=‘19336′ data-gtm-total-visible-time-199847_22=‘100′ data-gtm-vis-fired-199847_22=‘1′ data-gtm-vis-recent-on-screen-199847_24=‘19362′ data-gtm-vis-first-on-screen-199847_24=‘19362′ data-gtm-vis-total-visible-time-199847_24=‘100′ data-gtm-vis-vis-has-fired-199847_24=’1′ data-gtm-vis-recent-on-199847_26=‘19386′ data-gtm-vis-first-on-screen-199847_26=‘19386′ data-gtm-vis-total-visible-time-199847_26=‘100′ data-gtm-vis-has-fired-199847_26=‘1′>Success!</h2></div>
Now we can make a CSS Selector from this code, which in this case would be:
dev.et_pb_newsletter_result.et_pb_newsletter_success >h2
The fact that we put a ( >h2 ) character behind the selector means we've pointed out that we want to get the content of h2 if the parent element is a “div” with a class defined as:
“et_pb_newsletter_result.et_pb_newsletter_success”.
3.3 When two four this trigger:
Under “when to four this trigger” “once per element”So let's say that this is the same thing as that.
3.4 Minimum percent visible:
We can define % as how much of the widget should be visible on the display port in order for the tag to trigger it. Viewport is the visible area of a web page. Is equal to 1.
3.5 Observe DOM changes:
CheckObserve DOM changes“. This is important, as the item wants to track appears after the page has been downloaded. Therefore we will be sure that Google Tag Manager is observing the changes in DOM. If we don't check it, the trigger won't be able to locate the element we've chosen. Further press “this trigger fours on””some visibility elements“. And we're going to do this because we're only going to track one particular page. This will make it important to specify this. Select “Click text equals” and “Page Path Equals” , and fill in for the side you want to trace.
Once you've done all of this, click on saw and publishSo let's say that this is the same thing as that. Return to Google AdsSo let's say that this is the same thing as that.
Step 4: Google Ads
After you have published the new one “conversion action” in Google Ads, the most likely ”unverified’ during status. Normally it will take a few hours before the tag is up and running.

After the tag has been accepted, it is most likely to be: “no recent converts“. Once a new conversion is received, it will appear under status as “recording conversions”.
